Kevin Adams' Reproductive Rights Record
Supported Glenn Youngkin’s Abortion Ban
Adams Supported Virginia GOP Governor Glenn Youngkin’s 15-Week Abortion Ban. According to the platform section of Kevin Adams’s campaign website, “Life and Families: As I am pro-life. I believe this is an issue where we can find common ground. We need to pass laws that respect the rights of the mom and baby, limit late-term abortion by passing Glenn Youngkin's 15 week legislation, while providing reasonable exceptions to protect the life of the mother or in the instance of rape or incest.” [Kevin Adams for Senate, My Platform, accessed 11/29/22]
In Interviews, Adams Has Avoided Giving A Direct Answer About Youngkin’s Abortion Ban. According WTKR, “Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R-Va.) and other Republicans have proposed further restrictions on abortion, like a ban after 15 weeks with exceptions for rape, incest, and the health of the mother. Rouse said he would ‘fiercely defend’ a woman's right to choose. Adams didn't commit to backing a 15-week ban. He said he wants to see more details. He added he's more focused on issues like inflation. ‘At this point, I really have to search my heart and I really have to search the heart of constituents to see how they want me to respond to [the issue of abortion],’ Adams said.” [WTKR, 11/17/22]

According to the platform section of Kevin Adams’s campaign website, “My wife and I have been blessed to volunteer at pregnancy resource centers, where we’ve been able to counsel young women – and young men – on how they can choose life. And I think we have an obligation as a society to do more to help young women facing that decision know there are options beside abortion. And we need to make sure we support life beyond birth, and that means supporting moms and dads who choose life.” [Kevin Adams for Senate, My Platform, accessed 11/29/22]
